Game attendance was close to 250, with a great deal of support from local soccer players, family, and friends.
The game started off with Motlow on the attack, having numerous shots, but the team just couldn't seem to find the back of the net.
Emily Vallejo #10 returning freshman of the year got Motlow on the score sheet with a goal in the 20th minute, with a nice finish to the bottom right corner of the goal.
Northwest created several chances and threatened to play their way back into the game but Motlow recovered and finished the half.
Halftime score was Motlow 1- Northwest Mississippi 0
Motlow once again went on the attack straight from the halftime whistle, carving out further chances.
Ayline Mateos from Lavergne High School got on the score sheet with a great goal in the 48th minute, placing the ball in the top corner, past the keepers outstretched right hand. 2 minutes later Alex Rouse, captain and defending tournament mvp, got on the scoreboard, sliding in to knock the ball past the goalkeeper in the 50th minute.
Every player on the team was able to get in valuable minutes to help prepare for future games.
Motlow finished with 27 shots, while Northwest had just 8.
Ashley woods finished with a clean sheet and 4 saves.
