Men’s Basketball Falls to Roane State 84-72

The Motlow Bucks continued their late-game struggles Wednesday night, dropping an 84-72 decision to Roane State in men's basketball at Copperweld Arena.

The Bucks (5-14, 2-8) will return to the road this Saturday when they travel to Gallatin to take on TCCAA rival Volunteer State. Tipoff is 4 p.m.

The Bucks led the Raiders for much of the first half and went into intermission leading 35-34. Roane State pulled away late in the second half, outscoring Motlow 50-37 in the final 20 minutes.

Motlow shot 34% from the field and connected on only 28.6% of its 3-point shot attempts. The Raiders shot 45% from the field and hit 26% of its 3-point attempts. Motlow turned the ball over 17 times while forcing the Raiders into only eight turnovers.

Kolbe Gray led the Bucks in scoring with 16 points, including 4-9 from 3-point range, and dished out four assists. Mi'Quan Tucker scored 10 and pulled down five rebounds. Raymon Adams scored 10 with four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

LaVonte Harris scored nine points and hauled in a team-high 11 rebounds. Javon Martin hit two 3-pointers and scored nine points along with six rebounds.
