The Motlow Bucks got 29 points from Mi'Quan Tucker, including eight 3-pointers, and beat Caldwell Technical College 92-91 in overtime Friday, Nov. 4, in Morristown, TN.
The Bucks (2-1) followed that up with a 76-64 loss to Gaston College on Saturday. The two games were part of the Walters State Classic. The Bucks will host the Cumberland University JV team tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Copperweld Arena.
Motlow and Caldwell played to an 80-80 tie in regulation, with the Bucks outscoring Caldwell 12-11 in overtime.
Motlow was led in scoring by Tucker, one of five players scoring in double digits. Tucker also hauled in seven rebounds and had two steals.
Dylan Wade scored 16 points with seven rebounds and two assists. Raymon Adams had 12 points with six rebounds and two assists, Kolbe Gray scored 11 with seven rebounds and a team-high six assists. Matthew Jones also added 11 points with five rebounds.
The Bucks shot 40.7 percent from behind the three-point line, connecting on 11-27 attempts. The eight three-pointers in a game ties Tucker for fourth in Motlow's school record book, matching former stars Darius Harding, Freddie Goldstein, and Tyree Evans.
