Bucks host first conference baseball series after sweeping Martin Methodist College JV

March 8, 2018

The Motlow Bucks will welcome their first Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) conference opponent to the Driver Baseball Complex on the Moore County campus when Cleveland State visits for a three-game series beginning Friday.

The Bucks (13-9, 1-2) have won eight of their previous 10 contests, including a 9-4, 11-5 doubleheader sweep over the Martin Methodist College JV squad Wednesday afternoon in Pulaski. Last weekend, Motlow opened conference play with a trip to Chattanooga State, where the Bucks won the opener 9-8 in 10 innings, then dropped the last two games 8-4, 6-5.

Each TCCAA conference series is three games, with a nine inning contest on Friday and a pair of seven inning games on Saturday. The Bucks and Cougars are scheduled to begin Friday's single game at 1 p.m. and Saturday's doubleheader at noon.

The Cougars have had a successful start to their season, sharing first place in the conference standings with a 3-0 mark and a 13-5 overall record.
